Time to Linger

Some move at another’s pace
Trip over air and space
Is time a vortex?
Is it a vacuum?
Eternity stretches beyond each end
Cups of coffee blend friends
I can no longer run your race
It’s my turn to linger
Your turn to wait

Dversepoets.com Monday quadrille. Poem of exactly 44 words excluding the title. The word to include is linger.

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. I love Jesus and sharing my faith through written words. I currently have a poetry blog and also write on medium.com. My main focus is hope in Christ. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused.

Linger on. It is good for the inner self to stop and linger each and every day. We have to make time to smell the roses or read a poem or two

Keeping up with another, rather than maintaining your own pace, is tiring and finally awkward: to “trip over time and space”. I loved the way you put it.

Sometimes it’s best to go at our own pace, rather than getting pulled into the vortex!

  8. I like the line “Eternity stretches beyond each end” and how that is right in the middle and is the longest line. No matter the pace of life here on Earth, we keep eternity in mind…
