A Poetic Ear

I’ll leave it to the rain to speak
As it gently drops from my weathered eaves
I’ll leave it to the sun to spill
Shadows through staccato sky
I’ll leave it to the wind to spread promises
This is where I
Will hear truth

dversepoets.com Quadrillw Monday. The word is eavesdrop. I split the word in two. I hope that is legal.

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am married, and a mother of two grown children. I love Jesus and sharing my faith through written words. My poetry is on my blog and you can find some previous stories on Medium and linked-in. My focus is hope in Christ. My desire is that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired, occasionally amused, kind, and patient to my growth in Christ as He conforms me to His image.

‘The answer my friend is blowin’ in the wind’ – a beautifully poetic take on the prompt.

I agree with Bev about the clever turnaround of the prompt word, Mary, ‘As it gently drops from my weathered eaves’, and I love the image of he sun spilling ‘Shadows through staccato sky’. The wind spreading promises and truth is a familiar old friend; as Ingrid said, ‘the answer is blowin’ in the wind’.
