Soon I’ll need a little laughter

How serious the days have been

A respite from all this disaster

Soon I’ll need a little laughter

I just need some time for nothin’

A little rest from this world’s spin

Soon I’ll need a little laughter

How serious the days have been!

It is open link at dversepoets.com and I am reposting a poem I wrote in April, 2013, after the Boston Marathon bombing.  That was the first year I started writing poems. Can’t believe I still continue.

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. I love Jesus and sharing my faith through written words. I currently have a poetry blog and also write on medium.com. My main focus is hope in Christ. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused.

The days have been very serious. I sense the need for laughter as well.

Oh I am right there with you! A little laughter is what we all need right now. I find myself ignoring the dramas on netflix and prime and the sad novels….and going for the ones that make me smile, or better yet, chuckle and laugh out loud. Have you ever seen the movie What’s Up Doc? It’s an oldie and I am certain I’ve seen it at least twenty times and still, every time I laugh! If you can find it, I highly recommend it. 🙂

How true…the world’s best medicine has been in short supply. Take care!

  4. Indeed… laughter is what I miss too… or maybe just having a cup of coffee with a friend.
