Being an “essential” worker
I’m glad I go to work each day
It does me good to distance
From my other half who’s home to stay
A trek to Niagara Falls
Or Grand Canyon would be that…Grand!
I’m tired when I return at night
To find things undone….Oh the sight!
Foggy harbors here … and there
The aura in my eyes won’t clear enough
I need more than a wishing well
This fading antique rose is fragile …do not touch!
Linking up with Linda Kruschke Paint Chip Poetry the theme is ‘pilgrimage’ and the words are foggy harbor, Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, antique rose, aura, wishing well and dewdrop. Used all but one. Went light and humorous, sort of, while sorting out this pandemic.
Fun write with a twist of angst. I like it.
