In the Wind

A wildflower
Drops seed where it grows
Swept up in a breeze
Carried in a whirlwind
Petals of pastel
Burst through where
Attempts failed
Crops died
Famine threatened
A fragrance of hope
Whispers its way
To someone’s senses
And thus
A florist is born

dversepoets.com it is quadrille Monday. The prompt word is wild.

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am married, and a mother of two grown children. I love Jesus and sharing my faith through written words. My poetry is on my blog and you can find some previous stories on Medium and linked-in. My focus is hope in Christ. My desire is that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired, occasionally amused, kind, and patient to my growth in Christ as He conforms me to His image.

Smiling I am. I also used the idea of wild flowers. Love this idea that they plant themselves wildly, many times at the whim of the winds, and a florist is born. 🙂

I love the title, Mary, and that you’ve captured the whole story of not only a wildflower but also a florist in your 44-word quadrille. The short lines convey the movement of a seed in a whirlwind.
