A Length of Time

If today seems drawn
Because I am lazy
Insomniac hangover
Lingers heavy
My feet like lead
My strength withers
Like flowers under
A weight of rain
Then forever might be short

Dversepoets.com OLN. Wrote this in response to napowrimo early bird prompt. “If Forever be short.” A line from Emily Dickinson.

I did not link to them, as I can never figure out how to do that. I will post here on the days I have one.

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. I love Jesus and sharing my faith through written words. I currently have a poetry blog and also write on medium.com. My main focus is hope in Christ. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused.

We’ve all had days like this Mary – powerfully written… I especially like:
    “My strength withers
    Like flowers under
A weight of rain” Great poetic word ‘withers’ I’ll be back to see what you do next…
