Deceiving Eyes

He appears at peace

Buried, he seems asleep

Can one be free

Embedded in Earth’s shroud

Does one just wither like leaves

Leaving an imprint in time

Our eyes envision reality

The sun will set — and

Change the setting on the lens

dVersepoetspub.com takes a look at the photography of Mary Frances who takes pictures of things that are not there.  This is one of her photos.

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am married, and a mother of two grown children. I love Jesus and sharing my faith through written words. My poetry is on my blog and you can find some previous stories on Medium and linked-in. My focus is hope in Christ. My desire is that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired, occasionally amused, kind, and patient to my growth in Christ as He conforms me to His image.

Nice last two lines about changing the setting on the lens when the sun sets.

  5. This is really deep with questions… what happens afterwards, and will that imprint last?

Though we wither away, I like to hope we leave our imprints behind a trace of who we were.
