Seven This, Seven That, One Cross

Seven sins, oh so much more
I could write across the sky
And never name them all
For thought and action
Often intertwine
One can be as deadly as another
And virtue calls my bluff

Fake news my friend
If one is blind to see
The sin within himself and call it
Nature’s way or
Creative expression…some may say

But deep within I know I sin
But know much more the blanket covers
That redemptive grace that I’ve been given
Through Christ’s atonement once for all
But not for excuse to fall
The power of the Spirit within
Speaks consequence and moral voice
When I demand to make my choice
While on this earth
Still a battle I’m in

7 sins
7 virtues
7 x 70 we forgive?
On the Seventh Day it says God rested
Our sin began
Without the cross
How can we truly live? Continuing on with the number seven we are to examine the seven sins and seven virtues. How have or do now, they played a part in where you are? (Attempting to paraphrase).  Poem in any shape or form.

Good point: “For thought and action
Often intertwine” We need redemptive grace to be fully alive.

  4. It’s a wake up call to me, Mary, that whether our lives are ruled by vice or virtue, God’s grace is big enough to cover them all. Thank you.

  6. One thing God is NOT, is a cookie cutter. There is no one who even comes close in comparison. Thanks for reading and your comments, your thought provoking comments!

    Amen, nice reminders

These days it seems it would be politically incorrect to speak of 7 deadly sins. Ignore the sins and speak only of the virtues and everything will be fine!!
