Ah, how I love everything about Christmas! This year was no different!
No, I was not in tip-top condition, laryngitis and an annoying cough hindered many Christmas Eve plans which left me somewhat bewildered but I still went to church and wore my new dress that did not match my mask.
No, my house was not as I would have liked but like my daughter said, “Mom, it’s home.” Yes, I thought, it’s the same mess you grew up in.
No, we did not have snow but bluebirds came to my feeder and the red-bellied Woodpecker! I thought I would have no feathered friends this year. My feeder has been full for over a week. The squirrels did steal the peanut butter seeded pinecones.
No, I did not wake up as early as I planned but made I did make our traditional waffles, baked bacon and cinnamon rolls for my family.
No, I didn’t get everything I wanted but I already had everything I wanted, and they were all with me.
The very existence of Christmas is celebration enough. And He is still with me!
Frost blurs my window
I sleep in heavenly peace
