Am I The Missing Fragment?

Seasons change
I see water turn to ice
Then thaw in afternoon sun
No resistance

I see leaves on the ground
Toss in the wind
No resistance

I see Billowy clouds
Make way for charcoal pillows
No resistance

She breathes heavy
Grips my hand
I pry her fingers from my wrist
Feel the resistance

I can’t find the missing piece of the puzzle
Oh, my veins swell blue
It is me
I let go a little at a time

dversepoets.com “So for this prompt we are to write a Modernist/Post-Modernist Fragment poem ~by that I mean

Either:
a poem of several numbered stanzas. Each being complete in itself and having only a passing relationship to each other, if at all
OR
a poem of disjointed images (like listening to conversation in passing, repetitively switching between radio/tv station, random images across a screen, or paintings/photos seen in a gallery)
Rules:
Your poem should NOT conform to any rhyme scheme
Your poem MUST include Fragment(s) somewhere in the title”

Just a tiny fragment of my thoughts.

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am married, and a mother of two grown children. I love Jesus and sharing my faith through written words. My poetry is on my blog and you can find some previous stories on Medium and linked-in. My focus is hope in Christ. My desire is that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired, occasionally amused, kind, and patient to my growth in Christ as He conforms me to His image.

That poem really grows on one, as the reader, when one realises…and one can feel that anguish/utter anxiety.

  2. letting go and learning not to resist – some nicely observed examples in each fragment Mary and the title is a fragment in itself.

Provocative writing, Mary. It reads like glimpses of a mystery that is vast yet so close.

Oh my heart this is poignant, I especially resonate with; “I see leaves on the ground/Toss in the wind/No resistance.”💝💝

It’s like a mystery…leaves reader wanting more pieces to figure it out! Perhaps we need more acceptance of reality and less resistance?

I am in the half-sleep insomniac bloom of zolpidem, but I like your work. I will return when I am once again razored out to write a ringing comment! ✌🏼❤️

  7. Insomnia seems to be of pandemic proportions, but be careful of the razor’s edge.

  8. I do love how you tied the fragments together… the pain of letting go is universal, but you made it yours.
