When Silence and Stillness Battle

Voices begat chaos
I tried muting the words
Hoping to silence
AlI that I heard

Syllables bore deep
Like yeast in a dough
I felt the rise as it warmed
Stifling my control

“What stillness?”, I queried
“Lord, where is your grace”
I heard no answer
But tears kissed my face

A lamb groomed for slaughter
Hears chaos but stands
While truth prevails
No matter what evil plans

Neither silence nor words
Will ever still the crowd
But an empty grave
And a neatly folded shroud

Each pray and listen
Then fight as your told
And trust in His stillness
As His glory unfolds

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. I love Jesus and sharing my faith through written words. I currently have a poetry blog and also write on medium.com. My main focus is hope in Christ. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused.

  1. Frank Hubeny says:

Good advice: “Each pray and listen
    Then fight as your told”
