brown and white bird flying during daytime

I see the majesty of the eagle
While he sees the inspiration of the sky

I marvel at his grace and wingspan
He needs no audience to fly

My feet are earthbound as long
As I stare beneath and sigh

I too…have sky Quadrille Monday and the word is sky. Exactly 44 words excluding the title.

    Oh, YES.
Such an amazing perspective here, Mary. We ALL have sky.
    LOVE this:
“He needs no audience to fly”

Sometimes I can get so focused on results, on reactions, that I forget I am free to fly. How wonderful.

It is so easy to imagine the wings of an eagle soaring above it all. I used to have flying dreams, in which I would simply rise and sail above the world below just above rooftops. They were marvelous dreams. I wish they would return!

Watching eagles and hawks soar lets me think it must be something really spectacular up there. Very well done. Yes, we too have sky!

I would love to see an eagle fly, Mary; thank you for sharing the experience in your quadrille. I love the juxtaposition of the ‘inspiration of the sky’ and ‘my feet are earthbound’ to remind us of the eagle’s freedom to explore the sky and earth from a different vantage point, and that, in the end, we do have sky.

We often forget how lucky we are. There is nothing better that getting away from built up areas and enjoying visting and observing the beautiful wild places and creatues that are all around us.

  12. Like others – the last line is a cracker – – having told us about the eagle’s view, and the earthbound poet – here at the end is this inspiring ‘I too…have sky’.

I love the perspective here….the view from the eagles vantage…the view from us standing with our feet firmly on the ground but our eyes to the skies.
