More Than One

A kitten’s nose follows the scent
Of it’s mother’s milk and cries till it is satisfied

A weathered chair is sanded clean
But sawdust keeps my garden free from weeds

Where is the lesson in Jack and the beanstalk
Is there really magic in what we sow

Ballet slippers sat unworn as I could not aim my feet
If only I learned to dance, would it have softened the rest of me

I make others the apple of my eye
But God’s life in me is all He sees as I struggle and cry

Years separate as we travel endless dunes not all of sand
And brings me in a circle back to you

And we never even rode the same school bus
But we really all go to the same school

Paint Chip Poetry with Linda Kruschke and the theme is BFF, (Best friends forever) She is in the mood for couplets that rhyme. I did couplets and maybe one of them rhymes. She says use at least four of her words and phrases. I used all.

Apple of my eye, sawdust, endless dunes, Jack and the Beanstalk, ballet slippers, kitten’s nose, and school bus.

I have friends, I have best friends. It’s like color. I am partial to pink, but I love all colors. I don’t want to leave one out.
I have one from school. I was thinking of her when I wrote this. I have one in Jesus. I was thinking of Him when I wrote this. I have some who have passed away. I was thinking of them as I wrote this. Hopefully I will meet more. Yes I was thinking of them as I wrote this. Maybe one of them is you.
