Time and Eternity

Today’s my mommy’s birthday
Seems like a lifetime since we met
As wind rapped on my window
I wish I could say that I have no regrets

I spoke to her this morning
I don’t know if she heard
In Heaven there’s no time
Maybe it’s her first day with You Lord

We call today Good Friday
Again I think about the Cross
The words you said to your Father
Did you for one moment think you had lost?

You cried “Father, forgive them
They know not what they do”
When He saw sin and turned away
You asked “Why” too

Today’s my mommy’s birthday
I can’t wait to see her again
I know she won’t remember
What I didn’t know I did then

We call today Good Friday
The day it looked like all hope died
But we know the outcome of the story
And can rejoice in Heaven’s pride

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. I love Jesus and sharing my faith through written words. I currently have a poetry blog and also write on medium.com. My main focus is hope in Christ. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused.
