Restless

Something is amiss
When everything tastes good
But nothing tastes enough
And running takes you everywhere
But nothing takes you home
Words roll off your tongue
Ink drips on the page
Your ears too slow to capture
What the eyes can’t seem to hold
The earth knows when the day
Has had its fill of sun
And shadows quiet all
Never asking permission
But settles in to night
So I wait in silence
Knowing my creator
Holds every star in His hand

This is a beautiful poem, Mary. The story of our life!
    And shadows quiet all
    Never asking permission
    But settles in to night

  4. I really love this… the restlessness when all really is fine… I wonder what it is, but I think it’s what often leads us wrong.
