A Space In Between

I was mute
Then I spoke
No one listened

I withdrew
Then I wrote
To some, an imposition

Now I’m mute
Till I hear
The only voice that matters

Christ in me
Speaking clear
Drowning out the clatter

Often God speaks loudest in metaphor

dversepoetspub.com Quadrille for Monday. An exact 44-word poem. The prompt word is voice.

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. I love Jesus and sharing my faith through written words. I currently have a poetry blog and also write on medium.com. My main focus is hope in Christ. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused.

That only voice that matters, has its power becasue of its love and understanding of its charges. This comes through nicely. Nice use of rhyming, and stanza – such an interesting rhyme, listened/imposition. Wonderful

Good poem, Mary. Sometimes between the voices clambering on the outside and the inner human voice shouting on the inside it’s almost impossible to hear the One Voice we need to hear. It’s good to learn to be quiet and listen without all the interference. God bless.
