Love

So often just a word I am
A four-letter word at that
You aim me as an arrow toward
Every longing and Earthly desire
Senses breathe and conjure
All uses and abuses of me
You don’t know who I am
When you are shattered
Ice melts into rain
And runs together downstream
Don’t blame me
I am love
Unlike you and your many changing fantasies

I am love

Napowrimo.net day 17. Today, I’d like you to challenge you to write a poem that similarly presents a scene from an unusual point of view. Perhaps you could write a poem that presents Sir Isaac Newton’s discovery from the perspective of the apple. Or the shootout at the OK Corral from the viewpoint of a passing vulture. Or maybe it could be something as everyday as a rainstorm, as experienced by a raindrop.

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. I love Jesus and sharing my faith through written words. I currently have a poetry blog and also write on medium.com. My main focus is hope in Christ. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused.
