I shall skip the prose
Sun gives no apology
For the dark of night
Prompt at dVerse is the Mardi gras and juxtaposition from feasting in all its merriment to the somber solemnity of Ash Wednesday. Suggested is a haibun, but I decided on just the haiku.

The sun should never apologize for anything. Except maybe what he did to my thighs when I was in high school.

I like the perspective of the sun perhaps needing to apologize for the night.

What your poem signifies for me, within the context of this prompt, is the peace one might have in just being who she is, not having to justify her nature or overcompensate for a force of ignorance in her midst. I celebrate this poem, as it speaks to an integrity within us all that must be exercised.

You say it better than I, a force of ignorance in her midst. We all have this ignorance at times. We just have to lean to keep walking through and hopefully out of it.
