If I could return to when things were clear
A time of absence of all doubt and fear
Where every road led to someplace dear
I would have to go further than my earthly years
Reaching behind for idyllic ideals
Stretching my realm to believe it was real
That existence was once for me serene and surreal
Even fairy tales lie only in the pages
The only point of precise acclimation
Where all of my senses faced true adaptation
Was when I surrendered to Christ’s full oblation
Trading my sin for His perfect salvation
Trials and doubt did not fade into dust
I walk through this life with now someone to trust
I never will have a fairy tale ending
Till this earthly tent succumbs to His rending
In the mean I will keep on returning just far
To that place on my knees where He showed me His scars
And I will lay prostrate, my heart down low
And I’ll stay till He lifts me and whispers, now go.
