All in threes
Now poetry
Included in the mix
Like an elix(er)
(One passed today
I only knew her name
I could not grieve as others closer
I knew the one who fixed her)
Body soul Spirit
Me myself and I
All intertwined
Which is it
Liquid, water, gas
One turns to the other
And then another
Touch, taste, see
Planets, moon, stars
All make up a galaxy
(I thought of her sister
I met her once
Through my friend
A trinity so to speak
I knew of one by the two)
We are an isosceles triangle
An enclosed unit
Until another trinity
Entered our dimension
With all intention
Of getting our attention
(I crack the egg into the hot oil
The opaque runs and turn white
The whole is the sum of all its parts
What makes it hard to get it right)
An open heart
A confessing soul
An open plea
To the trinity who will set me free
And answer all my poetry
(Watching that, I grieve for the living
Because I know she is free)
dVersepoetspub.com prompt. Contrapuntal poems are poems that intertwine two or more separate poems into a single composition.
I tried. Hope someone understands it. The parenthesis separates the two poems.
Nice! The image of the egg is so effective and I really enjoy the mixing of the numbers; the threes in a poem of two.

Thanks Frank. This one wasn’t easy for me, but I hate not trying.

With much restrictions to create the form, and you still managed to maintain the rhyming. Well done Mary!

I agree with Debi’s comment. It does read like a weaving together of threads.

A braiding and intertwining here…..WordPress doesn’t make it easy to do this prompt! But — I thoroughly enjoyed this and most especially these lines:
“(I thought of her sister
I met her once
Through my friend
A trinity so to speak
I knew of one by the two)
Your weaving of three is consistently done by words, elements, and the word “trinity” itself. And as another said, the egg imagery is quite effective.
