Beware of the Cheater’s Hand

I shall give no praise
Not even glint or glance
To one who deceives
Forlorn souls into trance
Of hypnotic delusion

I once let him shuffle
His cards with beguile
Unaware of His Insidious
Intent to defile
But now I have met
His God, yes, his God
He is on a long lead
For a short time
Then all will see
The real conclusion

See the fear that grips you
Ask Christ to uphold you
Let His words unfold
Deep in your soul
In assurance of Him
Not in what happens
Or in what life gives
Let the devil play his cards
Christ has won the final round

This is in response to napowrimo.net day 27 prompt. Choosing a tarot card an forming a poem from the image. Conflict of interest here, so it took a few days.

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. I love Jesus and sharing my faith through written words. I currently have a poetry blog and also write on medium.com. My main focus is hope in Christ. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused.
