Hidden Treasure

We gather at the table
We pray
We eat
We talk
We laugh
Careful not to get caught
In the unconscious undertow
Funny thing
Tragedy can bring you closer than a celebration
A drawstring pulling hearts
In one continuous strand
Sealing what really matters

dVerse prompt for Monday. I am a little late. Write a quadrille (44 words) using the word gather

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. I love Jesus and sharing my faith through written words. I currently have a poetry blog and also write on medium.com. My main focus is hope in Christ. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused.

a drawstring pulling you in one continuous strand……what a wonderful way to describe the pulling together that a family crisis / tragedy causes. Well done! So glad you posted to the prompt.

    Good point about tragedy.

  3. I have always found funerals to be strangely comforting… sometimes almost joyous

  4. The unconscious undertow… yes, avoid that… but pull that draw string and seal this scene and what matters. Cool.
