The Deep End

I stand in shallow water and see the ocean’s bed at my feet and I am secure. I dare not walk out where blue shades become darkened as my footing will slip. I never learned how to conquer the waves.

A soul is deeper than the sea. The core of who I am and where I’m found. The deeper I search it the more I can breathe. No darkness hides me but light envelopes me. Created for where God should dwell, I need not be alone.

Body, mind, spirit
Have they more worth than the soul
Sun in all seasons

dVersepoetspub.com wants us to write about soul, whether soulful, soul food, anything about soul. Well, we all have one and should give it some mind.

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. I love Jesus and sharing my faith through written words. I currently have a poetry blog and also write on medium.com. My main focus is hope in Christ. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused.

A soul is deeper than the sea, the depth is unknown in so many ways, but gathers strength from light even in the deep abyss.

  8. I think it’s deeper too… a shallow soul doesn’t sound good at all.

Love this pursuit, plumbing the depths of the soul. Far deeper and more mysterious than the sea. Good thing you’ve got God’s light to lead the way
