A Strong Foundation

Solid rock, not stone
Is what I stand upon
No mix, He stands alone
None other shares His throne
While earth and sky and sea
Display His majesty
The Rock of Ages
Sets His eyes on me
Small as the pebble
In oceans deep

dVerse prompt – The word is rock,  it is quadrille Monday. Exactly 44 word poem. I looked up the difference between rock and stone. One geological sight records where stone is lighter and of a mixture, i.e. sandstone, limestone, etc.,  and can be broken by man. (In light of that I find it interesting that the 10 commandments were written on tablets of stone). Rock is a single raw material, stronger and heavier and must be blasted to break up.

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. I love Jesus and sharing my faith through written words. I currently have a poetry blog and also write on medium.com. My main focus is hope in Christ. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused.

I like how you differentiated rock, stone and pebble here and the Rock is able to see the pebble.

I too like how you differentiated between the rocks, stones, etc. I especially like how you pulled out The Rock.
