I’m Trying to Let Go

“I know you want an opinion

You are like all of us, craving acceptance.

So wary this time of letting one gel.

We’ve both been hurt and paid a price.

We wear it;

It hides behind our smiles.

Our turning heads and wandering eyes tell of places

We would rather not go.

My words are like water;

Once they spill, they go to every place.

“But what do you think?”

“The question should be, what do you know?

That’s what matters.

But we all want peace.”

Prompt: A poem in the form of a letter.

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. Recently I have begun writing a couple of blogs. One poetry and one on hope. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused. Soon to be added is another blog...writings on hope from a biblical perspective. Now it can be seen at purplepandasandotherphenomena.blogspot.com. please feel free to visit.
