A Portrait Hung On My Heart

She is as graceful as a bird in flight
She is clutzy as a clown in training
Her words cut like glass, and at the same time heal and leave no scar
Quick to be outright and honest
Quicker to soothe a broken heart
Humor is her constant companion
Every side glitters with a new finding of her
Serious about who she is, she will not be moved by opinion
Though you may ne’er agree with some of her
She will leave a mark that will not erase
A best friend, no matter how many years go by.

Prompt:  A portrait poem (I have many a great friend, but a best friend remains forever, even when unseen).

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. Recently I have begun writing a couple of blogs. One poetry and one on hope. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused. Soon to be added is another blog...writings on hope from a biblical perspective. Now it can be seen at purplepandasandotherphenomena.blogspot.com. please feel free to visit.
