Hope From All Sides

Ghetto streets or palace walls

Tattered rags or fitted dress

Grand repast or Peasant’s gruel

Hope cries out for soul’s rest

Rosy, Ruddy, swarthy, bronze

Whate’er the culture one has wrought

East to West, plains to shore

In every heart hope is sought

In somber lull or festive show

Endless toil to passive rest

Scenery will change the view

While hope remains the pilgrim’s quest

When in each one I dare to meet

A mirrored image of who I be

All reflecting back to God

Then hope will be displayed in me.

Prompt: Something that remains the same from various sides

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. Recently I have begun writing a couple of blogs. One poetry and one on hope. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused. Soon to be added is another blog...writings on hope from a biblical perspective. Now it can be seen at purplepandasandotherphenomena.blogspot.com. please feel free to visit.
