It’s Just a Bunch of Ingredients

The Baldwin sisters had a recipe handed down from Papa.

Wine served sparingly to friends, but always kept a secret.

I share my recipes

Except my mom’s Apple Cake

Once I mixed from memory all the ingredients

I don’t need a recipe.

It was a while since I made it

“So bland”! I said

Oh, no salt…Well, I forgot

It’s been a while

We hear it all the time

Even said it too

I know I should quit that incidental habit

I’ll never be an addict

It’s only when I’m moody, you know

Depressed, feeling low

Once I went three months

Well, not in a row

Whatever you make

Wherever you are

Whoever you’re going to be

Whether or not you realize

You’re using a recipe

You can blame it all on others

Circumstance or fate

But when it comes to your life

It’s what you add and mix together

Hot, sweet or spice

Might be good to think it through

Would you share your recipe with another?

Or send them looking for fondue

Well, it’s a slow start, I admit.

Prompt: recipe
