Unforeseen

A resplendent day
Cerulean blue sky
Verdant trails leading up the.mountain
Scorching sunshine and laughter
As we climb higher and higher
The food runs out
The canteen is dry
The sweat of our bodies now chills the senses
As the darkness of the day falls upon us
And the air turns colder and thinner
And our joyous cries become hollow
Like faint, distant echos
And we realize we must return
Without the sun

Day 24 of NaPoWiMo.net. My own.

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. Recently I have begun writing a couple of blogs. One poetry and one on hope. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused. Soon to be added is another blog...writings on hope from a biblical perspective. Now it can be seen at purplepandasandotherphenomena.blogspot.com. please feel free to visit.
