Attitude Adjustment

I’m wearing different socks today

One I got from him

The other it belongs to her

And no they don’t match

One is yellow, the other black

I’ll hum the songs that they may sing

As I go through my day

Not ones I would ever choose

But I will think of them

One for her, one for him

You see I’m feeling challenged

To see things from another source

As I pray I’m learning

I can’t change what they do

Lord, they belong to you

The spider in the dining hall

Just wanted company

He quickly took his fall

To sit with her in the palace

But her reaction was so callous!

-Today’s prompt…actually yesterday’s prompt of a poem from the perspective of a character in a nursery rhyme. Mixed it with my own poem.

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. Recently I have begun writing a couple of blogs. One poetry and one on hope. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused. Soon to be added is another blog...writings on hope from a biblical perspective. Now it can be seen at please feel free to visit.
