A Tasty Dish

Almost time

Something new

Ready for planting

Favorite thing to do

Pusa Asita Black Carrot looks fitting

Bred for the poor

We should never be quitting

Mix in the tomato

The Portuguese Monster

Birthed from my ancestry,

Not an imposter

With its tang and its sweetness

And succulent juices

This is just one of its culinary uses

And for richness and savor

Siam Queen Basil

Sturdy in stature

Aroma and flavor

And as it all sounds

So incredibly sweet

Most likely I’ll purchase

The fare down the street

Today’s prompt …Write an inspiring poem about heirloom plants. I hope it inspires you.

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. Recently I have begun writing a couple of blogs. One poetry and one on hope. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused. Soon to be added is another blog...writings on hope from a biblical perspective. Now it can be seen at purplepandasandotherphenomena.blogspot.com. please feel free to visit.
