She never strove
To be in front
Her shy demeanor
Kept her in shadow
She lived her life
The way she could
Her children kept her
In the battle
Her fighting done upon her knees
Where stammered words would not be silenced
Her weapon was her faith in Christ
Protecting her from blood spilled violence
Easy to praise one from afar
When all you see are accolades
But a life that’s filled with lonely tears
In part caused by my fierce tirades?
And all the words remorse can say
Could ne’er erase the memories
She viewed her scars as worth the fight
When I finally saw Christ’s Treasuries!
It’s been some years that she is gone
But I often think how she must soar
A celebrity that few may know
In heaven now her words can roar!
–Today’s prompt…A poem about any celebrity I am a fan of, present or past. My mother, A celebrity in maybe my eyes only.
