Saying Goodbye

Words only noises with no meaning

Comfort given received intermittently

Constantly wondering if I’d be too late

The ride seemed endless

Dying in a place unfamiliar to her

She didn’t know anyone anymore

I had to go, I had to say my last words

The ride seemed endless

I read her a letter I sent her

Still sealed on the bed table

Hoping I could breathe love into her

My love seemed endless

I gave her a bit of chocolate

I held her hand and kissed her face

I cried but she smiled, unafraid

Her love seemed endless

The time came to leave

Goodbye seemed endless

Her love seemed endless

The ride home seemed endless

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. Recently I have begun writing a couple of blogs. One poetry and one on hope. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused. Soon to be added is another blog...writings on hope from a biblical perspective. Now it can be seen at please feel free to visit.
