To Poetry and Poets

I’m writing as a novice, really
3 years Mostly in April
When I think of it, it sounds kind of silly
Quatrains, you often mimic as peril
Oh poets, I haven’t been a reader of you
Nor Austin, Yeats, and Millay
I know no works of Angelou
Joyce just throws my brain away
I like rhyming words, they become my addiction
Wandering thoughts aimlessly seem
 To fit in metaphoric description
And touches my soul as in a dream
A soliloquy sometimes can cause
Much hesitation to my untrained mind
I seem to only see the flaws
But it would be worse if were to get behind
So I’ll read what others have to say
I’ll keep on writing as the month wears on
I guess this one is addressed to the Quatrain
Maybe try a lune next time around
(Don’t know what happened, I couldn’t get it to separate stanzas)

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. Recently I have begun writing a couple of blogs. One poetry and one on hope. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused. Soon to be added is another blog...writings on hope from a biblical perspective. Now it can be seen at please feel free to visit.
