Myths and Legends

Of myths and legends, dragons and wings

Angels of fire, horses with wings

All cultures and ages sip them like wine

Stirring and brewing these stories of time

And into our consciousness tales go deep

We feed them to children and  lull them to sleep

Of myths and legends, kingdoms and thrones

Locks made of serpents will turn you to stone

A goddess of sun painted her world

She and her lords ruled with mirrors and swords

Of myths and legends, wizards and elves

Into the depths of the tales we delve

Getting lost in reality shaped in our minds

Where death is glorious; tragedy divine

These stories alive every time we repeat

And feed them to children and lull them to sleep

Of myths and legends are any so true

Where is the proof as you seek to pursue

Or as time continued have their verity paled

And all the wonder has gone stale

Engraved in the sand of ages passed

Only truth will always outlast

All the myths and legends some try to keep

And truth will never lull you to sleep.
