A Sweeter Language

I see pictures in every room; every stage of life portrayed,

Faces framed, expressions made; almost hearing what was said.

I see broken hearts remember; holding onto yesterday,

Embracing the reality while not knowing when it all will end.

I see words that couldn’t be spoken; but were heard very well,

In her eyes and expressions, obvious impressions,

And you knew she was in tune.

You tried to ease her frustrations with your kisses and flirtations,

Somehow I think it also was for you.

I see routines changing, but I hear no complaining,

While desperately maintaining and taking everything in stride

I see tears of love flowing without malice,

A surrender of emotion, pouring out all your devotion

To your love, your bride.

I know I can’t find the  words; the time I spent was very short

But it didn’t take me very long to know I was in the midst of love

And it’s a privilege to let you know all the things that I did see.

This is just a personal poem from my heart to someone special.
