My eyes are closed as tight can be

My eyes are closed as tight can be

How did I get here deep at sea?

Salt from billows on my face

Of any land there is no trace.

I dare not move as to subside

The bilious feeling deep inside

I hear the sounds, the pounding echos

They do no good for my ego.

I cannot tell from ‘oer nor ‘neath

Maybe a cyclops is my defeat?

Or shall I sink ne’er to be found

in willowy seaweed on ocean’s ground?

I sense I am all by myself

I grip the boat; i feel its svelte

And in surrender I open my eyes

And find that you are by my side.

It’s morning and I must arise.

And will I ever tell my dream? Never and don’t you either!

This is a poem using certain words from a list of words. I used sea, salt, billows, cyclopse, willowy, bilious, seaweed, svelte and ego.

About Mary (tqhousecat)

I am a wife and a mother of two grown children. Recently I have begun writing a couple of blogs. One poetry and one on hope. I only wish that whoever reads this will be blessed, inspired and occasionally amused. Soon to be added is another blog...writings on hope from a biblical perspective. Now it can be seen at please feel free to visit.
